Ah, the smell of marine grade varnish freshening up the living room.
Left to right: Gunflint Straight, Wapasha, and the Little Sag from Sanborn Canoe. I’m a big fan of traditional beavertail style paddles so I’m excited to get that middle blade wet next week. The little sag has a 7 degree bend at the blade which is a compromise between a 14 degree paddle and a straight paddle. You can still J-stroke somewhat like a straight, but get a more efficient stroke on long pushes down river. When the wind blows up river on the Missouri, having to paddle just to move with the current is a possibility.
